Project Details

Green Civil Services Engaged as Project Director, Procurement & Project Management for the Extension and siding at St Mary’s Freight Terminal.

The project comprised design and construction of 68,000m2 of heavy-duty pavement hardstand areas for container storage and vehicular movements, facilities for unloading and loading containers onto trains on a 600m loading face, internal access roads and employee parking areas, heavy vehicle access from Forester Road, light vehicle access from Lee Holm Road and administration offices.

Other works included a wash bay to wash containers and fuel storage facilities, stormwater drainage including water sensitive urban design (WSUD) principles and stormwater reuse, relocations of existing overhead 11kV and 66kV services, and planned areas and services for future Transport Workshop and Container Repair Workshop.

Works totalled 50,000m3 of earthworks, 2000m of stormwater, 2000m of fire mains and 1000m of water mains. Works were conducted on a 9.9ha site adjacent to live rail operations.
